English Language Programs

In Australia, the medium of instruction in classroom is English.

As international student, therefore it is very important that you should have sufficient English language skills to meet the entry requirements and the demand of the course you are planning to do in Australia.

Different type of courses have different English language entry requirements.

Types of English language programs:

There are many different types of English language courses designed to meet the different needs of international students.

These programs are:

- General English

- English For Academic Purposes

- English for Direct Entry Program (For university studies)

- English for University Foundation Year Preparation.

- High School Intensive English

- Vocational English

- Business English

- Conversation English

- English for Cambridge Examination Preparation

- English Preparation for IELTS (& TOEFL) Examination.

Tuition Fee:

Depending on the type of English language course you will be doing, tuition fee is in the range of between A$160 to A$495 per week.

High School English is around A$350 per week

This is a sample time table for High School English from SITEC for your general reference.

Course commencing date:

Depending on the type of English language program you are planning to do, most English language college has commencing date every month. However, some college is able to accept enrolment every Monday.

High School Intensive English course start date is preferably at the start of the each school term in January, April, July or September.

Direct entry English language program package with diploma or tertiary programs might have less flexible commencing date as the program completion date is closely link to the tertiary programs commencing date.

Visa Assessment Level

It is possible for you to apply for a student visa to do English language program only in one of the many English language colleges in Australia.

If you are holding a passport from Assessment Level 1 and 2 country, there is no restriction on the number of week you can enroll to do English language program.

if you are holding a passport from Level 3 country, you can only do a maximum of 60 weeks

Package Arrangement:

If you are planning to do vocational or tertiary programs in Australia but you do not have English language proficiency level to meet the program's entry requirements, do not hesitate to discuss with us as we can recommend the appropriate "package' arrangement and options for your consideration.

Future direction:

After you have improved your English language skills to satisfactory level and your academic qualification is also meeting entry requirement to do a formal program in Australia, you will be able to proceed ahead with the your study in one of the following areas:

3. Certificate and Diploma program

4. Undergraduate degree program

5. Postgraduate degree program
