Parent Visa
If the number of your children who settled in Australia is equal or larger than the number of your children who live in your own country or overseas countries and one of your children who settled in Australia is willing to sponsoring you to apply for parent visa. It is possible for you to apply for a parent visa to settle in Australia.
Generally, there is no age restriction if are applying for this type of visa while you are in your own country.
The waiting time is around 12-15 years.
Parent visa application pays visa application fee only.
Contributory Parent Visa
If you choose to apply for a “fee paying” parent visa, the waiting time is shorter and it is expected that your application is likely to be finalised within 2 years.
Generally, there are 3 lots of fees involved in the application. These are:
- Initial Visa application fee.
- inancial assurance of support - Main applicant is A$10,000 and spouse is A$4000; this financial assurance of support is arranged through your qualified financial assurer and the undertaking is last for 10 years. This fund is refundable to the qualified financial assurer after 10 years.
- Third payment is currently at A$43,600 per person.
The advantages of applying “fee Paying” Parent Visa are:
- Shorter waiting time
- You can access to Medicare cover as soon as you arrive in Australia.
Temporary Contributory Parent Visa or Temporary Contribitory Aged Parent visa
Temporary contibutory parent visa or Temporary contributory Aged Parent visa requires application to pay partial 2nd visa fee and no financial assurance of support arrangement at this first stage of application.
Visa holder and his/her sponsor is requires to lodge the application for Contributory parent or Contributory Aged Parent Visa within the temporary visa validity period and pay the balance of 2nd visa fee in according to the rate at time of application for the PR visa. Assurance of support arrangement is requires at this stage.
Aged Parent Visa
If you have reached the retirement age of Australia
-Men older than 65 years old and
- women age 64 years old if born before 30 /6/1947 or
- Women age 64.5 years old if born between 1 /7/1947 and 31/12/1948 or
- Women age 65 if born after 1/1/1948.
and you have a valid visa which allow you to apply for this type of visa in Australia, you may be able to lodge your application in Australia and wait for the outcomes of your application in Australia.
Aged parent visa application pays visa application fee only.
